Kanan Jaswal's Thoughts for the Days of October 2020

Oct:     Setbacks are temporary halts which provide us an opportunity to critically examine our approach and efforts and make necessary corrections.

Oct:     We make our future, one day at a time.

Oct:     Amoral people are a sub-human species.

Oct: The phrase 'concerned authorities' is an oxymoron, because had the authorities been concerned since Independence on August 15, 1947, we would not be in the unenviable state today as we are in.

Oct: Being poor is not the real tragedy, becoming irrelevant is.

Oct: Forget about innovations, if our bureaucrats even master the routine, their productivity and effectiveness will go up manifold.

Oct: It is up to us to turn the unprecedented calamity COVID-19 into an opportunity to discover and put to good use our resourcefulness and creativity.

Oct: By justifying blocking of arterial roads and looting and destroying public and private property in the name of civil protests, the ultra-liberals in India and the United States are striking at the roots of the world's two biggest democracies.

Oct: I am extremely ambitious, I want to remain useful to my nation till my last breath.

Oct: We know a lot if we know that we only know a little, and its reverse is equally true.

Oct: Only those who clear a Political Eligibility Test having questions on India's geography, history, culture, Constitution, governance, law, economic development, etc., should be allowed to fight the general and state elections.

Oct: Those who always follow their own values and principles lead themselves.

Oct: Failure is a call to push the Reset button and start afresh with better strategy, sharper focus, and greater determination.

Oct: We are what we repeatedly do, not what we repeatedly want to do.

Oct: Starting our day with an achievement, even if small, does wonders to our self-confidence.

Oct: Let's break out of the mould and become solutions-oriented. Like that, we can soon be deservedly proud of ourselves.

Oct: That organisation can have no future where 'who' matters more than 'what' in 'who says what'.

Oct: If you become your own light, you will never live in darkness.

Oct: Since death comes unannounced, we should not delay living according to our eulogy values and principles,

Oct: The quality of one's work and the speed of doing it should determine their reward.

Oct: Life can never be dull, it is our sensitivities and sensibilities which are progressively dulled with disuse.

Oct: If friendship does not elevate, it is something else masquerading as friendship.

Oct: Having concern for and showing consideration even to strangers separates the civilised from the uncivilised.

Oct: Not being in the zone is not good enough explanation for not being creative.

Oct: There is no rewind in life but see the amount of time we waste trying to do precisely that!

Oct: If have time for sycophants, you can't be a true leader.

Oct: For the well-prepared, the time is NOW.

Oct: By practising self-control and delaying gratification, you can almost set yourself up for success.

Oct: Living the purpose of our life is true happiness.

Oct: Having some concern for others and taking in our stride a minor inconvenience, we can defeat COVID-19. But it seems we are very slow learners.

Oct: When we start anything of consequence, we must provide for some disappointments and even failures on the way forward.
